Before you go off-grid: install KingFy, open offChat, turn on Bluetooth (and Wi-Fi Direct if available) and test with a nearby friend. Shareable artifact — send it to your trail group.

Proximity checklist (at home, before you leave)
1. Install KingFy on Android
offChat is the proximity module of the KingFy Super App. Without the app on both sides, there is no delivery. Install from the official Google Play listing.
2. Open the offChat module
Open the app and find offChat. Basic account setup may need a network; nearby chat afterwards does not need a tower.
3. Turn on Bluetooth (and Wi-Fi Direct if offered)
Bluetooth is the short layer. If Android exposes Wi-Fi Direct / nearby devices, grant it. With radios off, the neighbour list stays empty.
4. Grant system permissions
Accept what Android asks for nearby-device discovery. A denied permission means zero discovery even with the app open.
5. Test with a friend a few metres away
Both sides need KingFy + offChat active. Exchange a short note. If it fails at home, do not expect a miracle on the ridge.
6. Agree on honest limits
Range depends on walls, crowds and terrain. It does not deliver to another city without internet. On a mesh, a third phone in the middle can relay if the module stays on.

- Install / open offChat on the group’s Androids.
- Enable permissions and radios (Bluetooth; Wi-Fi Direct if available).
- Find who is nearby and send the first note.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to test the checklist offline?
The proximity test can run without mobile data after the app is installed and radios are on. Installing KingFy from Play still needs a network once.
Does it work on iPhone?
The mesh documented on this site is Android. There is no iPhone peer in this module version.
Can I just send the link to the group?
