What Wi-Fi Direct is on Android
Wi-Fi Direct on Android lets two devices build a Wi-Fi link to each other with no access point. It is not the same as joining mall Wi-Fi or creating a hotspot to share data.
In KingFy OffChat, Wi-Fi Direct is an optional proximity layer: it extends what Bluetooth already covers when hardware and OS cooperate.
Permissions and discovery
Android requires location or nearby-device permissions for discovery. Denying the permission often empties the device list — that does not mean the product “does not work”.
Test at home before relying on the feature on a trail, at an event or at camp. It is too late to learn on-site that a permission was denied.
Honest limits
It is still a local link. Walls, crowds and distance shrink range. Wi-Fi Direct on Android does not deliver to another city without internet.
